Drama

The Middle School students produce a spring play that is the final result of their second semester drama class.  Last year, the Middle School play was a musical version of Charlotte’s Web, and was performed in May.  Dr. Paula Muncy produced and directed the production, with Mrs. Brenda Kyzer giving the musical direction. -        First Semester Space Science including year beginning pot luck, astronomy, model rocketry, and simulations with Challenger

Learning Center.

Spanish Club

The middle school Spanish club meets about two times a month, typically on a Thursday afternoon to avoid conflicts with sports.  The purpose is to make learning Spanish fun for current students in 8th grade Spanish 1 and to encourage younger students to take an interest in the culture as well as the language.

We usually bring in food, begin by brainstorming the types of activities that the club would like to do throughout the year, and then begin working on them.  In the past we have done field trips to the Longmont Museum to both participate in and/or volunteer for their Day of the Dead celebration, we have gone to Mexican restaurants to order and speak solely in Spanish, we have gone to Boulder to participate in a Mexican festival, and we always create a presentation for the entire middle school for the end of the year.  The presentation has taken on many forms:  games, plays, interactive trivia, slide shows, fashion shows, music videos, dances, etc.  We are always looking for new ideas to make learning Spanish an amazing and enriching experience!
